The Attitude of Gratitude

Freely you have received: freely give. Matthew 10:8

The Bible teaches sowing in order to reap, or giving for a desired result. In salvation, you gave your heart to Jesus expecting something in return – eternal life, and He didn’t disappoint you. It also says about Jesus, “who for the joy set before Him endured the cross despising shame and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2 He looked beyond the cross to the throne that was his reward.

Follow Jesus – No Matter The Cost

Your decision to follow Jesus will upset some people, and your family may be the first place you’ll feel it. Not everyone is happy when the prodigal comes home – just ask the elder brother, Luke 15: 11-32.

Listen to what friends and acquaintances said about Jesus – “Is not this the carpenter’s son? …and they were offended at Him” Matthew 13:55, 57. When you step out and follow the Lord, some of those who have known you the longest will be offended and will probably let you know it.

Dear Friends,

Merry Christmas! How wonderful it is to share this holiday with such a wonderful congregation. I hope that you will take the time to worship with us over the holidays, and participate in the special events that help our church celebrate this blessed season. It’s so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of Christmas that too often we don’t take enough time to meditate on what this season is really about.
