Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him and bless His name ~ Ps. 100:4
Psalm 100 commands us to make a joyful noise & serve the Lord, come into His presence, enter His gates and give thanks to Him, and bless His name! These commands are based on timeless truths. God made us therefore we are His people. Furthermore, the Lord is good and His steadfast love endures forever. His faithfulness is to all generations. Consequently, our ability to praise, serve, or enjoy God’s presence flows out of our understanding of who God is and who we are in relation to Him.
Everything I am is due to Him. My worship, service, and fellowship with the Creator is dependent upon self-understanding. How can I praise when I am still the center of my own world? Not knowing the Lord hinders my worship. How can I praise whom I fear, or bless the one whom I think is evil? Or thank the one whom I think is inconsistent? Know the Lord and worship Him with joy, singing and dancing before Him because He is good and His mercy endures forever.
