When God Blesses You

 Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.
1 Timothy 6:17-18 

Everything you have, God gave you, so don’t “ego trip” over it! Enjoy all God gives you, but don’t trust anything but Him. It could all be gone in a day. Elijah discovered when the brook dried up, God was still his source (2 Kings 17) The most important thing you’ve got is your relationship with God. Anything you put before that you’re going to lose!

So what’s this all about? Simply this; If your possessions are just a status symbol or a security blanket, then you missed it. Jesus said in Matthew 10:8, “freely you received, Freely give.” Our greatest joys are not what we acquire, but what we’re able to give. You can be the solution for hurting people! If the Lord has blessed you, then bless others. When you can be trusted with little, He’ll give you more to be a blessing with and to enjoy.

God longs to bless you, but can He trust you?

1 Kings 19:10 And I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.

Elijah was convinced, the only man of God left in the world was him. Imagine it, the only ministry still preaching righteousness and standing up to a corrupt system. What a humbling revelation in 1 Kings, God had 7,000 in Israel who had not bowed to Baal.

You may be a great quarterback,  but you’re not the whole team – God has others! Consequently, we fall into the trap sometimes that we are the only ones who care or know how to pray. We see the future no one else does. Let’s check our hearts… God has others. He uses other Churches even though not exactly like us or the same beliefs as us.

Today, ask God for the grace to first recognize His work in others. Then, reach out to them in His love.

James 1:5  If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.

Often we hear people say, “only the Lord knows for sure.” Yes, but don’t stop there! He is willing to share with you what He knows. He simply waits to be asked. I read a slogan that said, when all else fails read the instructions. LOL, many times I’ve rushed into things, only to discover it’s a lot easier to get into them than to get out.

If the answer doesn’t come as quickly as you would like, there could be other things in our life that need to be dealt with first. Or, it could be that he would like to spend that time with you. Not asking, just adoring! It’s a lot easier to respond to someone who doesn’t just show an interest in you when they need something.

Do you really trust Him? If you do you’ll wait, totally confident He will direct you and take care of all that concerns you!

Ps. 42:6 O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember you.

The message the bible says, when my soul is in the dumps, I rehearse everything I know of you. David talked to himself and you got to learn to do that too. Listen to what Psalm 103:2-3 says, ” Bless the Lord o my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgiveth all our iniquities.” The charges against you have been dropped! As a result, it doesn’t matter how many court records you have. According to 1 John 1:9, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness in.

Read through the rest of Psalm 103:3 and you will see it says, “who (God) healeth all your diseases.” Has he ever healed you? Or better yet, has He kept you healthy? If we can speak, lets praise Him! Can we move… then let’s lift our hands and begin to exalt Him. If we can think, then begin to rehearse His goodness to us.

Let the redeemed of the Lord say so – Ps. 107:2

Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth – Isaiah 43:19

As we look forward to Easter Sunday, we’ll be finishing the series “Breakthrough.” This Easter season, we have been believing for great breakthrough. It’s been an incredible season of God doing incredible things in our lives. We serve a God that still does the impossible.

God bring dead things back to life, even today. Is there something dead in your life you are asking God to bring back to life? Maybe it’s your marriage, or job, or a relationship. Maybe your doctor has given you a death sentence. Whatever impossible situation you feel is dead, know that God brings what’s dead back to life. He did for His son, and He can do it for you too.

My prayer during this Easter season is that your love has been renewed. We’ve been looking at how to position ourselves to receive a miracle. As well as how to be a conduit for God to do miracles in our lives, and in the lives of others. May God Bless you!
